Conservation Activities

One of the basic functions of the Connemara Public Library is to conserve the printed heritage to the future generations. For this purpose the library has separate divisions for physical, chemical, reprographic and digital conservations.

Physical Conservation
All the books damaged by human error or by the natural reasons are mended, repaired and bound in the Binding division. Journals are bound volume wise.

Reprographic Preservation

Most of the 19th century Tamil,Tegu,Malayalam and Kanada manuscripts have already been microfilmed .
